Casale San Regolo is a majestic estate that includes a collection of the main residence and two regal guest residences at the crest of a long circular drive. Olive groves border the home on two sides, and beyond the olives, the vineyards begin. The views are extraordinary, especially those seen over the ledge of the infinity-edge pool as the sun slips below the horizon.
The main residence is organized around a long, open living area with exposed stone walls subtly sectioned off by arched doorways and windows. It is airy and open, yet very intimate. The textures are rich with barrel-vaulted ceilings, wood residences, interiors are warmed by traditional Tuscan style fireplaces. In the kitchen are a hand-carved marble sink, magnificent DeManincor gas and wood-burning stove and Gianfranco Ballerini refrigerators. Upstairs are three large master suites, two of which share a sitting room and fireplace. The suites afford complete privacy and stunning views of the countryside. The master baths are always works of art, with separate areas for the shower and deep soaking tubs and double vanities. Bisazza mosaic tile work, Axor and Philippe Stark fixtures add additional flair to the Italian furnishings.
This is one of the largest homes on the estate with five bedrooms between the main residence and two guest houses, which all share a common courtyard leading to the infinity-edge pool. This structure is fitting for multi-family getaways or groups who enjoy their own space.
Outside, the forno, or wood-oven, set in the middle of the courtyard is the perfect place to gather for dinner and watch the sun disappear into the hillside. Each guest residence is complete with master suite, bathroom and sitting area and one residence offers a unique outdoor shower for those wanting to enjoy the Tuscan outdoors.
Guest Residence One
The first guest residence welcomes with a large sitting area and bedroom off the main courtyard. The bath is a destination in itself, with an enormous ten-foot marble slab wall dividing the space. There is a free-standing tub, two free-standing pedestal
sinks, open shower, toilet and bidet. The entire space opens through a window to a private enclosed patio with outdoor shower. Guests may never leave these opulent quarters.
Guest Residence Two
Adjacent to first guest residence, yet very private, this guest residence has a large, high ceiling and sunken bedroom. The bath has an oversized bathtub, two freestanding pedestal sinks integrated into tile pillars, an open shower, toilet and bidet. The entire bath opens onto a private patio that overlooks a serene, wooded valley. The compound’s outdoor dining area is a wonderful and intimate loggia extending from this guest residence, overlooking the infinity pool. The compound’s outdoor dining area is a wonderful and intimate loggia extending from the annex, overlooking the infinity pool.
History
The estate’s rich history dates back to the end of the 10th century, when it was built and christened Querceto Manor. Querceto Manor often hosted the political exiles of nearby Siena until it fell into decline starting in the 15th century. Timbers Resorts acquired the estate in 2005 and immediately began a significant and authentic restoration of all of the buildings, including the historic estate. The restoration has made use of traditional construction methods and authentic materials found on the estate and throughout the region, while spaces were updated with modern conveniences and luxuries. Here you can enjoy privacy on this 4,200-acre estate with amenities of the resort.
