Located in the Oltrarno district, Casa Otto is a typical Florentine palace that is currently owned by a Florentine architech who has infused her modern style and colorful textiles. Classic and modern pieces of furniture blend well with the recycled wood floors. The living room has a large fireplace and overlooks the small, shaded and flowered garden. Breakfast is prepared by the staff daily and is served in the living room or if weather permitting, outside. In the winter, there is a heated canopy to dine outdoors.
The palazzo is located in an unconventional and popular side of the Oltrarno that has been gentrified in recent years. You can still feel the authentic Florentine touch. The area is chosen by designers and artisans who live and have opened workshops nearby. There are also very nice restaurants, bars and coffee shops.
Casa Otto is a perfect place for those who want to live among the locals in Florence. The palazzo can also host a small intimate gathering. The Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens, Santo Spirito and Piazza del Carmine is a short 10 minute walk. It is a 20 minute walk to the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi Museum and Piazza Signoria. Giardino Torrigiani, a private garden and one of the largest in Europe, is steps away. A guided tour by one of the owners can be arranged for you.
