Since the 16th century, this emblematic former watchtower has jutted out from the coastal cliffs of Positano. Lovingly renovated, it now serves travelers with the quirkiest luxury stay available, towering above the sea.
There is no other property as unique, historical, and quirky as Villa Pirata. It is quite simply incomparable. Originally used as a watchtower in the 16th century, the tower has stood guard over the Mediterranean Sea for centuries. After considerable renovation, the tower is available for rent as an ultra-exclusive villa.
Given the curvature of the building, the rooms are uncommonly shaped, following the lines and turns of the stone exterior. The views from Villa Pirata are impressive and panoramic. Multiple terraces invite guests to step outside, take a seat, and take it all in.
A smaller railed terrace is found in the mid-level of the tower with views extending out over the Mediterranean Sea. Climb higher and enjoy the unmatched sensation of flying above it all while lounging on the beautifully tiled rooftop terrace, well equipped with furniture and umbrellas to ensure a comfortable setting.
Suites and Bedroom
Villa Pirata is organized into two separate suites and a third bedroom from which guests can choose. Each suite is equipped with its own private living area, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom while the third bedroom is laid out with a bedroom and bathroom only.
The deluxe suite is facing the sea and offers guests a private circular terrace accessed from the suite’s sinuous wrought iron staircase. The living area is furnished with antique pieces as well as a sofa bed suitable for small children. A piano is ready and waiting for your musical stylings and the kitchenette offers all the basic necessities for small meals and snacks. The private bathroom has a shower.
The junior suite is also seaside with its own private terrace overlooking the sea. A small kitchenette, breakfast bar, and living room are perfectly suited for a party of two looking to refresh and renew for exploration. A private bathroom with shower and comfortably appointed bedroom round out this suite.
The double room differs from the others in that it does not have a kitchenette or living area, though it does have a small fridge. Arranged more like a traditional hotel room, this space offers a double bed and private bathroom with shower. It does not have a seaside view and is often used as an annex for the deluxe suite.
